About

A highly accomplished academic leader, researcher, and construction professional with over 25 years of extensive experience spanning higher education, applied research, project management, and the construction industry across Pakistan, the United States, and New Zealand. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from NED University of Engineering & Technology (Pakistan), together with three Master's degrees in Computer Science (University of Karachi), Information Technology (Preston Institute of Management Science and Technology), and Engineering Management (NED University of Engineering & Technology). I have also completed the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) through Open Polytechnic of New Zealand (August 2026), strengthening my expertise in learner-centred teaching, assessment and evaluation, adult learning principles, and evidence-based tertiary education practice.

Currently based in New Zealand as a New Zealand Resident, I serves as the Programme Leader for the New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Level 6) at Imperial College of New Zealand, providing academic leadership across both the Construction Management (CM) and Quantity Surveying (QS) strands. My role encompasses programme leadership and strategic planning, curriculum design and review, assessment development and continuous improvement, internal and external moderation, peer review, academic quality assurance, programme evaluation, learner success initiatives, and the development and maintenance of programme documentation to ensure compliance with New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) requirements and institutional quality standards. I work collaboratively with academic staff, industry stakeholders, external moderators, and professional bodies to ensure the programme remains academically rigorous, industry relevant, and responsive to emerging trends in the construction sector.

My academic career includes extensive experience in teaching, research, curriculum development, academic administration, and postgraduate supervision. During my tenure as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NED University of Engineering & Technology, I played a significant role in curriculum delivery, academic leadership, research development, and quality assurance. I successfully supervised more than 30 undergraduate final-year design (capstone) projects and co-supervised four postgraduate Master's theses, primarily in construction project management, sustainability, digital construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and emerging construction technologies.

Alongside my teaching and leadership responsibilities, I remain actively engaged in applied research and scholarly publication. My research interests include construction project management, stakeholder risk evaluation, construction risk management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital transformation in construction, sustainability, construction education, and the integration of emerging technologies to improve project delivery and learner outcomes. I continue to contribute to peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, promoting innovation and evidence-based practice within the construction industry.

I have also held several institutional leadership and administrative roles, including Head of the NED Green Society, member of the Green Campus Steering Committee, Programme Coordinator for postgraduate professional diploma programmes, and manager of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) Centre, Smart Classroom, and undergraduate and postgraduate computer laboratories. These roles enabled me to contribute to institutional sustainability initiatives, digital transformation, academic quality enhancement, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning environments.

I am committed to developing highly skilled construction professionals through academic excellence, innovative and learner-centred teaching, applied research, continuous quality improvement, and strong engagement with industry. My professional philosophy is centred on lifelong learning, academic integrity, educational leadership, collaboration, and the integration of contemporary technologies that enhance graduate capability, employability, and the future of construction education.
