Dr. Sujata Bhan is a trained psycho-educationist, clinical psychologist, and teacher educator. She is actively involved in teaching, administration, research, and training teachers in Special Education for more than 32 years. Dr. Bhan has conducted extensive research in special education in national and international projects. She has presented and published papers and articles in national and international conferences. Her area of specialization is clinical psychology and Visual Impairment (VI). Her area of research in M.Phil was Clinical Psychology and her research was to understand the relationship between word association emotional indicators and personality types. She joined the dept. of Special Education in 1993 as a psychologist and there she realized where her passion lay. She specialized in Visual Impairment. She did B.Ed in VI and was later awarded PhD in VI. She has developed a standardized tool, Functional Skill Inventory for the Blind (FSIB), for the functional assessment of the blind in functional skills which has been published by National Association for the Blind. She has authored "Understanding Children: a Manual for Teachers", published by Prasad Psycho Publications. She is also editor of a book on " Inclusive Education".She has developed course material for special education courses at graduate and post graduate level in India and abroad. She has contributed by writing chapters in books on special education. Prof. Bhan has been an invited speaker in various international conferences organized by ICEVI, British council etc. Her papers presented in international and national conferences have been published in reputed international and national journals. She has received UGC educational exchange Scholarship for Mauritius and International fellowship for Sweden.
She is a registered guide for Ph.D. Prof. Bhan is a consultant in many national and state government bodies.
