About
Aditya Ghosh is a human geographer who examines sustainability challenges across postcolonial geographies amidst rapid climatic changes. Two main strands of empirically informed, interdisciplinary research: 1) Field based examination of emerging socioecological risks; nuances of polycentric resilience; ecosystem degradation, unsustainable spatial transformations and its impact on humans and nonhumans. 2) Analysis of sustainability politics by deconstructing knowledge hegemonies; decolonising the understanding of sustainable development.
Worked with universities of Leicester (UK), Heidelberg and Leuphana (Germany), Sussex (UK), Colorado-Boulder (USA), Ahmedabad and Jindal Global (India) as well as with institutions such as WWF-India, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Centre for Science and Environment, The Times of India and Hindustan Times. Recipient of prestigious global awards such as Chevening (UK-FCO) and DAAD (German academic exchange).
