Dr. Ferdous Ahmed Barbhuiya is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati, in the department of Computer Science & Engineering. He is also the Dean of Administration at IIIT Guwahati. He has received his Ph.D. as well as M.Tech. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and B.E. degree from Jorhat Engineering College under Dibrugarh University, all in Computer Science and Engineering.
His research interests include Network and Information Security, Security in Cloud and IoT, Biometric Security, Security in OSN etc. He has implemented several research projects funded by Govt. as well as Corporate agencies. He is a member of the Working Group (WG) on “Mobile Device Security" for the realization of the mission set forth by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. He is also active in consultancy services for various Govt. departments including law enforcement agencies for cyber security aspects. He has published more than 100 research papers in International Journals and conferences of repute. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.
