Dr. Shariful Alam obtained his Master of Science in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and his M.Sc. (Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He earned his Ph.D. from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (presently known as IIEST, Shibpur).

He has been serving at this institute since January 2005 and has accumulated over 21 years of teaching experience. He qualified in both the GATE and the Joint UGC-CSIR JRF examinations conducted by the Government of India.

Till date, 14 Ph.D. students have successfully completed their degrees under his supervision, one has submitted his thesis, and eight are currently pursuing their doctoral research under his guidance. Additionally, he has supervised more than 36 master’s students for their project work.

Dr. Alam has visited several countries in connection with his research activities and has delivered numerous invited lectures at both national and international levels. He has published over 145 research papers in reputed journals—primarily those indexed in Scopus and SCI—and has contributed to several book chapters. He also serves as a regular reviewer for numerous leading international journals.
