About
Dr. Bikash Ranjan Behera received his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Gandhi Engineering College (GEC) Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, in 2012; his M.E. degree from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi, India, 2016; and finally, Ph.D. degree in RF and Microwave Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India in 2023.
He was the recipient of the Young Scientist Award at URSI-RCRS 2017 (Tirupati, India) & URSI-RCRS 2024 (Bhimtal, India) and also received a Travel Grant from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS) for InCAP 2018 (Hyderabad, India). In 2018, he was also recognized for “Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing” by AEUE – International Journal of Electronics and Communications (Elsevier). Similarly, in 2025, Dr. Behera was proud to be in the Top 200 Reviewers by IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (TAP).
Dr. Behera has held academic positions as Guest Faculty at IIIT Bhubaneswar from Aug 2021 to Dec 2021 and at the Centre for Advanced Post Graduate Studies, BPUT Rourkela, from Dec 2021 to May 2022. He then served as Assistant Professor at Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Sciences (MITS), Andhra Pradesh, from August 2022 to May 2023. Since May 2023, he has been with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
His research interests include RF front-ends for energy harvesting applications, metamaterial-based antennas & reconfigurable antennas for next-generation wireless applications, characteristic mode analysis, computational electromagnetics (CEM), and EM-based optimization techniques.
He is an active reviewer for reputed journals such as IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Sensors Journal, AEUE-International Journal of Electronics and Communications, IET Electronics Letters, IET Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, International Journal of Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Microwave and Optical Technology Letters & many more. Prior to that, Dr. Behera was a part of the Editorial Board Member (Electronics) for Scientific Reports (Springer Nature).
