About

M.K. Verma received his B.Sc (Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Rourkela (presently National Institute of Technology, Rourkela), India in 1989, M.Sc (Eng.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, India in 1994 and PhD degree in Electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, India in 2005. He is currently working as Professor in Electrical Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India. He is reviewer of reputed journals such as IET Generation Transmission and Distribution, IET Smart Grid, Institution of Engineers (India) Series-B, and many prestigious conferences such as IEEE PES General Meeting, NPSC, CERA, AFRICON, UPCON. He is member IEEE and life member of Indian Society of Technical Education. He has produced three Ph.D. and about 30 M.Tech. Dissertations. Five Ph.D.s and two M.Tech. Dissertations under him are in currently in progress. He has delivered invited talks at many places on different research topics. He has organized a number of workshops/short term courses/seminars/symposia. His current research interests include voltage stability studies, application of FACTS controllers, power quality, wide area monitoring system and smart grid.
