About
I am a dedicated researcher with extensive expertise in Cement and Concrete Research, focusing on the sustainable development of building materials. Currently, I am serving as an Assistant Professor in Navrachana University, Vadodara, Gujrat. Before that I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at BITS Pilani under the National Building Construction Company (NBCC) project, where my research centers on the reutilization of industrial waste, particularly Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS), to develop Alkali-Activated Materials (AAMs). This work significantly contributes to waste-to-wealth initiatives and aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) that evaluate environmental impacts such as global warming potential (GWP) and terrestrial ecotoxicity potential (TEP).
I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, with my research focused on the immobilization of heavy metals in construction materials and the development of value-added products, such as paver blocks. My work employs advanced Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MADM) techniques, including grey relational analysis (GRA) and analytic hierarchical process (AHP)-weighted GRA, to optimize mix designs for enhanced sustainability. Additionally, I investigate the thermo-mechanical performance of these materials under elevated temperatures, utilizing techniques such as Taguchi method and ANOVA for performance evaluation.
My expertise extends to microstructural characterization using FESEM-EDS, FTIR, and particle size distribution (PSD) to assess material properties at a fundamental level. My research bridges the gap between basic studies on paste and applied studies on mortar, ensuring a systematic transition in material development.
Through my work, I aim to advance sustainable construction technologies, optimize industrial byproduct utilization, and develop durable, eco-friendly building materials with minimal environmental impact.
