About
I am Mr. Rajkumar Sokkalingam pursuing a Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. S. Arumugam, Director, Centre for High-Pressure Research, Department of Physics, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 620 024, Tamil Nadu, India. With co-guidance of Dr. Boby joseph, senior scientist, Elettra sinctrotrone trieste, Italy. My Ph.D., Research work based on the superconducting materials and charge density wave materials under high pressure.
I have sound knowledge of synthesis and characterization of single and polycrystalline 2D metallic compounds using CVD and solid-state reaction. Also, I am expert in operating various instruments such as cryogen free 9T CCR – VTI, 4K CCR-VTI, PPMS and X-ray diffractometer and also have done transport properties of materials under high pressure using piston type hydrostatic pressure cell up to 3 GPa . I am expert in data analysis and system interface programming software such as GSAS II (Rietveild Refinement), Origin, LabVIEW, LATEX and MATLAB. Further, I am interested in doing Research in the field of novel superconducting and charge density wave materials under high pressure.
I have worked in novel CDW material Sm2Ru3Ge5, RENiC2 (RE=Gd, Ni) under the extreme condition of high pressure, high and low temperature for both structural and transport measurements. I have successfully synthesized Cu-intercalated and doped NiTe2 single crystalline. Some polycrystalline materials also synthesized successfully FeGe, Co3Sn2S2, SnTe, FeTe2, VSe2 with various elemental superconducting materials are doped.
