Dr. Avinash R. Tekade is working as Professor and Head of Pharmaceutics Department at Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Pharmacy, Thergaon, Pune, India. He is graduated from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur (1995), Post graduated in Pharmaceutics from BITS PILANI (1999) and completed Ph.D. from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (2010). He has 28 years of total experience in academics and research. He is Recognized PG Teacher and Ph.D. guide by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and so far has supervised 02 Ph.D., and supervised 86 PG dissertations. He has published 46 research papers in peer reviewed high impact journals, 20 research and review papers in national journals and presented 15 research papers in various national and international conferences (Cumulative impact factor 152.67, H Index 25, i10 index 38, and total citations 2774). He has presented one of his research works in international conference at Pilau Pinang, Malaysia. He has filed 5 Indian patents (04 are Awarded, 03 Published), authored one book on Pharmaceutical Engineering, one book chapter in book published by Elsevier Publications, received grant of Rs. 28.7 lakh from AICTE, under research promotion scheme (RPS), Rs. 16.7 Lakh from Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commision, Mumbai, Startup Grant of Rs. 3 Lakh from Ministry of Education, New Delhi, and fetched infrastructural grant of Rs. 45 lakh from Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, under DST FIST program. He has been awarded prestigious Prof. Man Mohan Sharma Science and Technology Award (Citation, Trophy and Rs. 1 Lakh Cash) by Marathi Vidnyan Parishad in recognition of his outstanding research work. His areas of research interest are Nano-particulate drug delivery system, CNS targeting, Pulsatile drug delivery system and solubility enhancement of poorly aqueous soluble drugs. He served as a Member, Board of Studies at North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University, Nanded. Dr. Avinash R. Tekade is on the editorial board of American Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, International Journal of Material Science and Applications, Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Composite Materials Research and Journal of Pharmacy Research and Clinical Pharmacy. He is ad-hoc reviewer for the reputed journals like International Journal of Pharmaceutics (Elsevier), Drug Delivery (Springer), AAPS PharmSciTech (Springer), Pharmaceutical Development and Technology (Informa Healthcare), Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology (Willey Interscience), Recent Patents on Drug Delivery and Formulations (Bentham Science), Journal of Microencapsulation (Informa Healthcare), Ophthalmic Research (S. Karger), Journal of Liposome Research (Taylor and Francis) and Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery (Informa Healthcare). He has delivered many invited talks in AICTE sponsored faculty development programs and University sponsored state and national conferences. He is examiner/referee for M. Pharm and Ph. D examination of various universities. He is a life member of Association of Pharmaceutical teachers of India (APTI), and registered Pharmacist with Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council (Reg.No.62725).
