About
Dr. Pokkuluri Kiran Sree earned his B.Tech and M.E degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU and Anna University, respectively. He holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from JNTU-Hyderabad. Dr. Kiran Sree has also completed his Postdoctoral Research (PDF) under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Martin Margala, Director, School of Computing and Informatics, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA, and Dr. Prasun Chakrabarti, Director of Research, Sir Padampat Singhania University, India.
He has authored fifteen textbooks for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students in Artificial Intelligence and related fields, and has published over 150 research articles in reputed international journals and conferences. Dr. Kiran Sree has filed and published fourteen patents in Deep Learning and AI. His biography is featured in Marquis Who’s Who in the World, 29th Edition (2012), USA. He is a two-time recipient of the Bharat Excellence Award, presented by Dr. G.V. Krishna Murthy, Former Election Commissioner of India, and has also been honored with the Rashtriya Ratan Award.
Dr. Kiran Sree has served as a Board of Studies (BOS) Member for B.Tech programs in AI, ML, and CSE at JNTUK during 2022, 2023, and 2024. He is also a BOS member for several autonomous engineering colleges and universities across India.
He previously served as the Principal of N.B.K.R. Institute of Science & Technology, Vidyanagar, the second-oldest private engineering college in Andhra Pradesh. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Dr. Kiran Sree currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women (Autonomous), Bhimavaram. He has delivered more than 100 technical talks on Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence at major international conferences, faculty development programs (FDPs), and webinars.
He is the Faculty Champion for the University Innovation Fellows Program by Stanford University, mentoring students in innovation, creativity, and leadership. His research interests include Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics, Bioinformatics, and Cloud Computing. Dr. Kiran Sree is deeply engaged in academic and research communities, serving as Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Member, and Reviewer for several reputed journals and conferences. He also holds the distinguished position of Global Vice President of the World Statistical Data Analysis Research Association (WSA), contributing actively to advancements in global statistical and AI research.
