About
My academic training and broad research experience have given me an excellent background in multiple biological disciplines, including molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. This makes me a highly motivated scientist to pursue an academic and translational research career. At SMST, IIT Kharagpur, I have gained good experience in stem cell isolations and delivery of natural peptide conjugated Zwitterionic carbon nano-dots into adipose-derived stem cells (ADMSCs) for their differentiation towards chondrogenesis. My other exciting project is the modulation of autophagy (canonical and non-canonical) toward cancer cell death. At Patanjali Research Institute, I worked on mineral particle endocytosis in cells and how particle-induced vacuolation is associated with non-canonical autophagy, also termed LC3-associated phagocytosis (LAP). Also, I extended my research on the effect of herbal extracts/ herbo-minerals in Diabetes, inflammation and cancer. During postdoctoral research at Moran Eye Center, I worked on the mechanism of angiogenesis and development of gene therapies to prevent pathogenic neo-vascularization and ocular fibrosis. In Ph.D. I gained a sound knowledge of Plant molecular biology and plant genetics. Apart from my research, I am also engaged in several project proposals writing and involved for supervising junior research fellow, medical students for their research planning and methodology.
