About
Dr. Sabiha Fatima is an internationally recognized biomedical scientist and senior academic leader, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University, where she has been a faculty member since 2011. She holds a Master’s degree and PhD in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, India, and has over two decades of experience spanning higher education, translational biomedical research, and industry engagement. Dr. Fatima has established a strong international research profile in cancer biology, nanotechnology, molecular and environmental toxicology, oxidative stress, and translational medicine, with her work addressing critical challenges in human health and disease. Her research demonstrates sustained national and international impact, supported by competitive research funding and a substantial body of publications in highly ranked international journals. Her scientific contributions have extended beyond academia, with her work being cited in government policy documents by leading international agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, USA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). In addition, her research has been referenced in international patents across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting its translational, commercial, and societal relevance. In addition to her research achievements, Dr. Fatima is deeply committed to academic leadership, postgraduate supervision, and institutional development. She has supervised numerous Master’s and PhD research projects as principal and co-supervisor and has played an active role in academic governance, quality assurance, and accreditation initiatives at institutional and program levels. She is also an experienced reviewer for several national and international journals and has received the Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing from Elsevier, recognizing her scholarly service to the scientific community.
