In 1993, joined Dibrugarh University, India, where he was subsequently instrumental in developing the Applied Geophysics Programme. He received his PhD from IIT Kanpur on basin evolution, morpho-tectonics and fluvial processes in the Brahmaputra River system. Presently, he is engaged with connecting surface processes with different scales of subsurface geophysics.
