ARGHYA MAJUMDER

About

Currently serving as Director, School of Mines, Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol, A state owned University, Govt of West Bengal. Formerly Deputy General Manager (Quality Assurance and Technology Development) at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam, Sri Arghya Majumder, did his graduation in Metallurgical Engineering and Master's degree in Industrial Metallurgy from Jadavpur University. He is a Ph.D. holder from Jadavpur University. He had been instrumental in ensuring the quality of steel through stringent process control over the Raw material handling plant, sinter plant as well as Blast Furnace for more than two decades. A Certified lead and internal
auditor for Quality Management System (QMS) and Integrated Management system (IMS) by BVC, UK, he had been conducting regular audits of Core departments as well as Marketing branch offices and stockyards for more than 10 years. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) from Pondicherry University. He was part of the team in the commissioning and stabilization of the Cold Rolling Mill of M/s Walzen Strips Pvt. Ltd., Biradingi, Howrah. Two times Creativity Award Winner, Sri Majumder has been a part of the commissioning of a new Sinter plant and Blast Furnace in Vizag Steel Plant. He was selected from Vizag Steel Plant for Industrial Training at Arcelor Mittal, Dunkerque, France as a Quality Expert on the Paul Wurth Blast furnace. He was a member of the Editorial team responsible for publishing “VIZAG QUEST”. Dr. Majumder has more than 10 National and International Technical paper publications. A Life Member of IIM, Mr. Majumder was Treasurer for IIM, Vizag Chapter, and presently Joint Secretary, IIM, Kolkata chapter.
