I passed graduation from Bethune College with Major in Economics; subsequently, I completed my Masters degree with a first class, securing first position in merit list. In 2006, I completed my PhD on conservation of built heritage under the supervision of Prof. Sarmila Banerjee at Calcutta University.
I was a member of West Bengal Education Service from 1997 to 2012, teaching in Bethune College and Presidency College. AFter Presidency College became a University I was appointed as Associate Professor in 2012.
Currently I am Professor in the Economics Department, Presidency University.
My research interests include gender, health and applied econometrics, while my teaching interests are Econometrics, and Microeconomics.
