About
Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna is a renowned Academician with a remarkable history of successfully guiding individuals and organizations in advancing their academic and research maneuvers. He served as distinguished Vice-Chancellor at Chandigarh University and a faculty at SLIET with over three decades of progressive experience in successfully providing leadership in all academic matters and operational areas.
As the Director of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the “SWAYAM MOOCs” project, he successfully pioneered the development of the ‘SWAYAM Platform,’ the largest MOOC platform globally. He was conferred with the ‘Commendation Award’ from Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the Hon’ble Former President of India, during the ‘SWAYAM Platform’ launch on 9th July 2017.
He led the delegation from India with an invitation from the BRICS International Forum and Ministry of Energy, Russia, during the energy week of Russia in Moscow, 2018. He is well known for successfully launching the ‘Smart India Hackathon,’ India’s first and biggest hackathon event in 2017, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education to promote a culture of product innovation and unfold the problem-solving mindset among students.
He was honored with countless awards from various renowned national and international organizations, including WSIS, ATMC Education Group, Ministry of Ayush (Government of India), Indian Society for Technical Education, World Peace & Diplomacy Organisation, etc., for his notable contribution in the Education domain. He has the distinction of publishing 162 Research and Review Papers in National and International Journals/Conferences and 57 national and international patents.
He delivered 400+ sessions offline/ Webinars/Online Sessions, published 8 Chapters & 3 Books, reviewed 236 Research Papers, guided over 50 Ph.D., M.Tech/M.E. Dissertations and UG Projects. He is admired for organizing 23 Conferences, Workshops, FDPs, and training camps. He is recognized for his unprecedented contribution as the Editor/Reviewer for 13 National/International Journals and Fellow, Chair, Senior Member, and Life Member of 14 National/International Professional Bodies/Societies.
He was a Special Invitee and Speaker at UN Headquarters in 2017 and a notable member of the United Nations Micro-Credential Drafting Committee, UNESCO SDG4 Committee, and UNESCO Asia-Pacific MOOCs Committee. He has participated in over 190 National & International Conferences, FDPs, Workshops, and Convocation Ceremonies organized in numerous countries, including the US, China, Switzerland, and Singapore.
