Dr Priyabrat Gochhayat is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Sambalpur University, Odisha, India, where he has served with distinction since 2009 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2019. A dedicated mathematician, educator, and researcher, he completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics from Gangadhar Meher (Autonomous) College, Sambalpur, and subsequently earned his M.Phil. and PhD in Mathematics from Berhampur University, Odisha. His doctoral research, titled “Studies on Geometric Function Theory: Some Subclasses of Univalent and Multivalent Functions,” under the supervision of Professor Akshaya Kumar Mishra, laid the foundation for his sustained contributions to Complex Analysis and Geometric Function Theory. His research interests span Complex Analysis, Geometric Function Theory, Harmonic and Polyharmonic Univalent Functions, Special Functions, and Orthogonal Polynomials. Dr Gochhayat further strengthened his academic and international research profile through post-doctoral research at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (2012–2014). During his early research career, he worked as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in a National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) sponsored research project and was also supported by a CSIR fellowship, reflecting his strong research foundation. He has published extensively in reputed international journals, presented his research at numerous national and international conferences, and has received more than 1,500 citations, underscoring the significant impact of his scholarly work. Deeply committed to academic mentorship, Dr Gochhayat has successfully supervised three PhD scholars and guided twelve M.Phil. dissertations, contributing substantially to the development of young researchers. His academic excellence has been recognised through several honours, including the Professor Ghanshyam Samal Award for Best Paper Presentation from the Odisha Mathematical Society in 2007 and the Outstanding Research Award from Berhampur University. He is actively associated with several leading professional organisations, including the American Mathematical Society, the Indian Mathematical Society, Ramanujan Mathematical Society, Odisha Mathematical Society, and RGMIA, Australia, and with the Society for Special Functions and Their Applications, India. Through his distinguished achievements in research, teaching, and mentorship, Dr Priyabrat Gochhayat continues to make meaningful contributions to contemporary mathematical sciences in India and beyond.
