About
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India. After completing my M.Pharm in Pharmacology, I gained four years of research experience at Suven Life Sciences Ltd., specializing in in-vivo brain receptor occupancy studies. I completed my PhD through the UGC-BSR fellowship at Annamalai University, where my research identified decreasing levels of Regulatory T-cells in migraine patients, suggesting that migraine could be an autoimmune disorder. I also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuroscience at JIPMER, supported by the CSIR-Pool Scientist Fellowship.
Throughout my career, I have received fellowships and awards, including the UGC-BSR Fellowship and the Drug Discovery Challenge Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK). I have been invited to the esteemed International Headache Academy meeting (iHEAD) and have received travel awards from the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), the International Headache Society (UK), and SERB (India). I was elected Eminent Scientist Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in 2025. I have over ten publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals, including a study on COVID-19 vaccination linked to UNSDG 3. These contributions have supported my ongoing work in the field.
Currently, I am leading a novel nicotine cessation project focused on addiction mechanisms and detoxification using ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as a single-intervention strategy. Based on this work, we have established a pharmaceutical startup company, RXTECH Pharma Private Limited. This innovative approach aims to redefine nicotine cessation methods and contributes meaningfully to addressing nicotine dependence, with potential implications for public health and clinical practice.
