About
Darshan Kumar Jha is currently working as Assistant Professor of Geography at Jagat Taran Girls' Degree College, University of Allahabad. He obtained his PhD in Geography on the topic entitled " Informal Settlements, Multidimensional Poverty and Urban Planning: A Case Study of Varanasi City" from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He has also qualified UGC-JRF in Women Studies. He has published papers in leading Geographical Journals and also presented papers in various National and International Conferences. He has also worked as a volunteer in the area of children welfare and as deputy coordinator for poor weavers support program at local N.G.O. His research interest includes Urban Geography and Planning, Social Geography, Disaster Management, Women Studies and Regional Planning. Besides academic interests his hobbies include mountaineering, adventure sports, travelling, reading novels, writing poems and social work activities.
