Dr. Ranjan is an Endowed Professor, Vice Chair of Comparative Oncology/Research Innovations, and Director of One Medicine Clinics in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Previously, he held the position of Endowed Professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University, USA, where he also served as the Director of the OSU Institute for Translational and Emerging Research in Advanced Comparative Therapy (INTERACT). Dr. Ranjan earned his BVSc degree (equivalent to DVM) from Madras Veterinary College in Chennai, India, and obtained a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from Virginia Tech. He subsequently served as a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Interventional Oncology, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His research interests focus on the application of device-directed nanoparticles for solid tumor chemo-immunotherapy. Dr. Ranjan's laboratory actively participates in preclinical research and bench-to-bedside veterinary clinical trials, receiving funding from various federal, state, and private sources. Over the years, he has been honored with awards such as the NIH Merit Award, OSU Distinguished Faculty Award, Regents Research Award, and President’s Fellow Award. Additionally, Dr. Ranjan serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, UK's Humanimal Trust, and NIH panels.
