About
Dr. Yogendra Kumar Awasthi (Senior Member, IEEE) is a distinguished academician, researcher, and innovator with deep expertise in RF and microwave electronics, artificial intelligence, and advanced communication systems. He earned his Ph.D. in RF and Microwave Electronics from the Department of Electronic Science, University of Delhi, New Delhi, and his M. Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Patna.
Dr. Awasthi began his academic career as a Lecturer at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra, and later served as a Co-operative Faculty at the University of Delhi. He also contributed as a Guest Faculty at Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani, Rajasthan, from 2005 to 2012. In August 2012, he joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad, as an Assistant Professor, and in 2020, he was elevated to the position of Professor and Director of Research.
He has held notable leadership positions, including Director – Innovation and Research at SGT University, Gurugram, and currently serves as Professor at Galgotias University, Greater Noida.
Dr. Awasthi has successfully executed multiple research and development projects funded by the Government of India and other national funding agencies, with a cumulative grant value exceeding ₹1 crore. His prolific research portfolio includes over 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications, 15 Indian patents (published and 8 granted), two authored books, and five book chapters.
His research interests span a broad spectrum of cutting-edge areas, including AI & DSE assisted high-frequency passive microwave component modeling, microwave antennas for 5G/6G communications, metasurface absorbers, sensor technologies, Picosecond transient pulse analysis, RF power transfer and energy harvesting, MIMO antennas.
Dr. Awasthi has made significant contributions to academic publishing, serving as associate Editor of Journal Scientific Research Information, Editor-in-Chief of the MR International Journal of Engineering and Technology and as a reviewer for several leading international journals, including IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, IET Electronic Letters, IEEE Access, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, PLOS, AEUE International Journal of Electronics and Communications (Elsevier), Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications (Taylor & Francis), and the International Journal of Electronics.
