Dr. Munish Kumar Thakur is an accomplished academician, researcher, and author with more than a decade of experience in the field of English literature and language. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of English at IEC University in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Early Life and Education

Dr. Munish Kumar Thakur was born and brought up in a small village in Himachal Pradesh. He had a keen interest in literature from a young age and was an avid reader of books, particularly those in English. He pursued his higher education in English literature from Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla, where he completed his Master's degree in English literature in 2008, with an aggregate of 55.25%.

Academic Qualifications

Dr. Munish has a distinguished academic record and has pursued various academic qualifications during his career. He completed his PhD in English Literature from Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla. The title of his thesis is From Fringes to Centre: A Case Study of The Taming of Women, The Roof Beneath Their Feet, Felanee, Fence and Hangwoman.

He has also qualified HP SET on 29/10/2015. Dr. Munish has also completed his MPhil in English Literature from Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla, where he secured an aggregate of 61%. Additionally, he has also completed a PGDCA from ICDEOL, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, with an aggregate of 65%.

Career

After completing his Master's degree, Dr. Munish started his academic career as a lecturer in English language and communication skills at Pt. GSM Polytechnic College, Arki (H.P.) for one year in 2012. Later, he worked as an English Language and Communication Skills Trainer with Axis-v Pvt. Ltd. at Akal Academy, Baru Sahib (H.P.) from Dec 2012 to Dec 2014. He worked as a Computer Teacher and Communication Skills Trainer for one year in 2015.

Dr. Munish has also worked as an Assistant Professor of English at IEC University from August 2016 to July 2017 and Indus International University from August 2017 to Jan 2019. He has been working as an Assistant Professor of English at IEC University since January 2019, where he has been teaching English literature and language, as well as training students in communication skills and personality development.

Administrative Experience

Dr. Munish has also held various administrative positions during his academic career. He worked as the HOD of English for 2.5 years and is currently working as the Associate Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at IEC University. Additionally, he is also taking responsibility for UGC/NAAC work and working as a Coordinator for the same.

Research and Publications

Dr. Munish has a deep interest in research and has published several research papers and articles in various national and international journals. He has also presented his research work at various national and international conferences. His research work is focused on women’s issues, Indian literature, and communication skills.

Dr. Munish is a prolific author and has published several books with ISBNs. One of the co-authors of the book entitled Women (Poems and Reflections on Her) published in March 2024 with ISBN: 978-93-5850-346-3 by JEC Publication. He is also the co-author of the book entitled Rangeela Phagun and Holi Sabke Saath, both published in March 2024 by JEC Publication.

Personal Life

Dr. Munish is a family-oriented person and likes to spend his free time with his family. He is also an avid reader and enjoys reading books on various topics, including literature, history, and philosophy. He is also interested in sports and likes to play cricket and badminton in his free time.
