About
Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed is working as a faculty member of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh since February 2001. He was the Dean of School of Applied Sciences and Technology, SUST from December 2019 to December 2021 and the Head of CEE, SUST from June 2015 to June 2018.
Professor Ahmed took his education in Sylhet Govt. Pilot School, Sylhet, Sylhet Cadet College, Sylhet and Peoples’ Friendship University, Moscow, Russia (BSc, MSc and PhD on Structural Engineering). He has special trainings on ‘Advanced Numerical Modeling’ and ‘Advanced Mechanics’ in Germany and ‘Techniques for Earthquake Resistant Structures’ in India. He has research interest on earthquake engineering, low cost engineering materials, low cost sanitation, rain water harvesting etc. He has about 40 technical research papers published in peer reviewed international journals. He is the Chief Editor of JERIE and Editor of SUST Journal of Science and technology. He is reviewer of many renowned journals. Besides Bengali, he knows English, Russian, German languages.
Professor Ahmed has actively participated in many international conferences and workshops. He was involved in organizing many conferences, fairs, and seminars. Recently he organized ICERIE 2021 as the Chair.
