About
I am a hydrologist and climate-impact researcher interested in understanding how water systems respond to a changing climate. My work is driven by a simple curiosity: how can we better predict, manage, and protect water resources in a world where climate extremes are becoming more uncertain?
During my doctoral research, I worked on the Godavari River Basin, focusing on large-scale hydrological modelling, model calibration, uncertainty assessment, climate-change impacts, ENSO-related variability, and hydro-energy vulnerability. This work helped me explore how climate variability can influence river flows, water availability, and energy generation across major river basins, with the broader aim of supporting more reliable water-resource and climate-risk assessments.
My current postdoctoral research focuses on machine-learning-based postprocessing of ensemble precipitation forecasts, with the aim of improving probabilistic heavy-rainfall prediction over India. Alongside this, I have also worked on soil moisture variability in Himalayan catchments, examining how terrain, vegetation, soil properties, and hydroclimatic conditions shape soil moisture patterns.
Broadly, my research connects hydrology, climate science, water resources, and machine learning. I am especially interested in hydrological modelling, climate-risk assessment, river basin sustainability, water–energy interactions, soil moisture dynamics, and AI/ML applications for water and climate challenges.
