About

Prof. (Dr.) N. C. Talukdar, the present Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University, graduated in agriculture from Assam Agricultural University and earned a Post Graduate degree in Soil Chemistry from Punjab Agricultural University. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, under a Canadian Commonwealth Fellowship. He completed his first post-doctoral studies as a FAO fellow at The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment under Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and his second post-doctoral research as a DBT, GOI Overseas Associate in rhizosphere community dynamics at the University of Warwick, UK. He has served in various teaching, research, and extension positions across several academic and research institutions in the country. Prof. Talukdar has made notable contributions to higher education, having served as a visiting professor, resource person, expert member, and chairperson in various regional and national organizations.
