About
The flavour of working on the development of aptamer/ antibody based lateral flow/dipstick detection kit for medical diagnostic has been a touching feeling for me. As a core part of my PhD, I was working on developing nanoparticles based methodology for immunodiagnostics and antibody based clinical diagnostics. I gained profound knowledge on various bioconjugation methods and synthesis of nanoparticles, surface modification and characterization using TEM, DLS, and Gel electrophoresis etc. techniques. Hand on experience on development of aptamer/ antibody based lateral flow immunoassays gave me path to develop my carrier in the field of immunodiagnostics.Presently, I am working as a SERB-N PDF CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh on development of quick and reliable lateral flow/dipstick based detection techniques for food contaminants, toxins and microbial antigens for biomedical applications using target specific Aptamers as biorecognition elements. My basic understanding on the difficulties allied with lack of hygiene and improper sanitation leading to microbiological health complications motivated me to look forward specifically on the challenges associated with food infections, foodborne pathogenesis and food intoxication problems
