About

I am working as an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at COEP Technological University, Pune, India. I recently submitted my PhD thesis titled "Surface Engineering Studies of AISI 4150 Steel: Microstructural and Tribomechanical Characterization" at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, DIAT Pune. My research focuses on advanced surface engineering techniques, including NiB coating, salt bath nitrocarburizing, NiW pulsed electrodeposition, and hard chrome electroplating, which are aimed at improving the tribological and mechanical performance of gun barrels for small arms. I possess extensive hands-on experience with sophisticated characterization equipment, such as FESEM Zeiss Merlin Compact, Bruker D8 Advance diffractometer, nanoindentation apparatus, Mitutoyo roughness tester, DUCOM pin-on-disk machine, and CHI660E workstation. Additionally, my two-year collaboration with the Armament Research & Development Establishment (DRDO Lab) in Pune enabled me to conduct key experimental characterizations for my research. Beyond my PhD work, I have also utilized Mechanical Design software, such as Abaqus, Ansys, Pro-E, and LS-DYNA, during my MTech research, applying them to analyze structural mechanics and material behavior. These tools allowed me to integrate experimental data with simulation studies for a comprehensive understanding of material performance. I am eager to continue working in the structural analysis of coatings, composites, and advanced materials, particularly in the context of defense applications, where I can leverage my skills to contribute to cutting-edge developments in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science.
