About

Dr. Edgar D’souza is the Principal of Goa College of Hospitality and Culinary Education, Goa and specialises in the field of Food and Beverages. He has previously worked as an Assistant professor at VMSIIHE. He completed his graduation in Hotel Management from Institute of Hotel Management, Goa and Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Tourism from Goa Business School at Goa University for his thesis “A Study on Tourists Drinking Behaviour in Alco-tourism”. He was a part of the 5 member Committee appointed to draft the Feni Policy for Government of Goa. The Draft Feni Policy and a Feni Industry Report were submitted to the Government in 2019-20. He was the founder program director of the Integrated masters program MBA (Hospitality, Travel and Tourism) started by the Goa University. He has also worked as a F&B faculty at A.I.F.C.C.S and I.I.A.S, Goa. He has a vast industry experience and has worked in leading hotels such as The Leela Palace and The Golden Tulip Hotel, Goa, the Paradise Island, Maldives, the World Trade Centre Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai and the Royal Hayat in Kuwait.
He is the author of Food and Beverage – A Practical Guide (2012), Published by Rupa Publications India, New Delhi.
His subject specialization includes Food & Beverage Management and International Hospitality Management for the B.Sc. program, Foundation Course in Food and Beverage Service {Theory and Practical} for the B.Sc Culinary Arts program and Advanced Hospitality Management for M.Sc IHTM program at VMSIIHE.
