Dr. Anil Kapoor is currently Professor of Surgery (Urology & Oncology) at McMaster University/ St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He obtained his MD from Dalhousie University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomate of American Board of Urology. He is certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, having obtained post-graduate training from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Renal Transplantation, Reno-Vascular surgery, and GU Oncology.
Dr. Kapoor is current Director of the Urologic Cancer Centre for Research & Innovation (UCCRI) at St. Joseph’s Hamilton, Head of the Genito-Urinary Oncology program at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Co-Chair of the NCIC Kidney Cancer Disease Group, and Chair of the Kidney Cancer Research Network of Canada (KCRNC). He is a member of the Board of Directors of Kidney Cancer Canada (KCC). He has published over 330 peer-reviewed papers, 12 book chapters and over 200 abstracts in the fields of genito-urinary oncology (prostate cancer and kidney cancer), kidney transplantation, and urologic laparoscopy. He is current Head of the Clinical Trials Group at the McMaster Institute of Urology (MIU) and established the Kidney Cancer Centre at McMaster University in 2009.
