About

Research Scientist with more than 6+ years of experience in MRS/MRI methods development. Currently working in the area of metabolic imaging of Obesity, Diabetes, Aging and other chronic diseases such as cancer and NAFLD

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
• Planning, designing and optimizing new MR methods (both experimental and theoretical simulations) and experimental protocols
• Performed MR research data analysis including post-processing and image reconstruction using Matlab
• Troubleshooting problems, maintenance, quality control and analysis of GE 5T SPINlab Hyperpolarizer, GE 3T 750w Discovery and GE 3T Signa HDxT clinical MR scanner
• MR sequence programming on GE 3T clinical MR scanner and MR excitation pulse designing using SLR algorithm
• Developed co-polarization strategy and evaluated co-polarized mixture of [1-13C] Pyruvate and [1,4-13C2] Fumarate for detection and treatment of chronic liver disease and cancer applications
• Designed new 13C labelled biomarkers for dynamic metabolic MR imaging for detecting and distinguishing normal from pathological conditions including cancer
• Developed unique 13C labelled phantoms for efficient MR pulse calibration and performed professional animal handling procedures like catheterization and euthanization for pre-clinical experiments
• Performed pre-clinical to clinical MR technology transfer including experimental procedures and protocols as a member of research and development team
• Contributed research for securing and renewing various NIH research grants
• Published research in peer reviewed journals and presented findings at various international conferences
• Trained and mentored fellow lab scientists, post-docs and graduate students
• Worked on designing new 1D and 2D NMR pulse sequences based on long-lived states and coherences.
• Applications of these pulse sequences for studies in in-homogeneous magnetic field, separation of metabolomic mixtures and organic compounds, protein-ligand binding and for studying chemical exchange phenomenon.
• Extensive experience in NMR data interpretation and characterization of organic molecules.
• Handling, problem troubleshooting and maintenance of different Bruker NMR spectrometers (400, 500, 600, 800 MHz) with and without cryogenic probes.
