Dr. Shailesh Gahane

About

I am an academician and IT professional with 17 years of total experience, comprising 14 years in academia and 3 years in the corporate sector. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor and have been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Programme Incharge for the Department of Information Technology & Computer Science at Parul College of Engineering, IT & CS, Parul University, Goa.

I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2024) from Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research, Wardha. My doctoral research focused on the development of a cloud-based decision support system for child healthcare monitoring. I also hold a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

My teaching experience spans regular, distance, and online education modes, with expertise in delivering courses such as Java Programming, Web Development, Cloud Computing, Data Science Essentials, Mobile Application Development, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, and Emerging Technologies. Throughout my academic career, I have undertaken several leadership and administrative roles, including Head of the MCA Department, Programme Coordinator, College Examination Officer (SPPU), AICTE and UGC Compliance Coordinator, and currently Programme Incharge for the Department of IT & CS.

My research contributions include 76 publications in Scopus and PubMed-indexed journals, 8 authored and edited books, 1 design patent, and 2 copyrights. I have also been recognized with several Best Teacher Awards and Academic Excellence Awards for my contributions to teaching, research, and academic administration. Additionally, I have been recognized as a Ph.D. Supervisor in Computer Science.

Prior to my academic career, I gained valuable industry experience at eClerx Services Limited and OrisonWeb Solutions, where I worked on enterprise-level web and database applications. My core areas of expertise include Cloud Computing, Healthcare Information Systems, Database Management Systems, Data Science, Enterprise Reporting, Software Testing, Application Development, and Artificial Intelligence. I remain committed to fostering academic excellence, promoting outcome-based education, and contributing to impactful research and innovation in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.
