About
Ana Marta-Costa graduated in Zootechnical Engineering at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, in 1998. She obtained her PhD in Agri-social Sciences also at UTAD, in 2008. Presently, she is an Associate Professor with habilitation at the Department of Economy, Sociology and Management of UTAD’s School of Social and Human Sciences and an researcher of the Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies (CETRAD). Her main research fields include rural and sustainable development, with emphasis on sustainability assessment, management and planning of the farming systems. Author or co-author of more than 175 scientific publications in these fields, in several peer-reviewed international journals, books and conference proceedings. Researcher in several European and national funded research projects, related with the aforementioned research fields. Participation in academic management as Coordinator of Agribusiness and Sustainability PhD Program, developed by the consortium between UTAD and the University of Évora. Currently, she integrates the General Council of UTAD and member of the Board of the Portuguese Agricultural Economy Association (APDEA).
