About
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor (Bioinformatics) at the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences at JSSAHER, Mysuru, India, with more than 15 years of research experience in Bioinformatics.
I am teaching both theory & practicals on (a) Python for Bioinformatics, (b) Structural Bioinformatics, (c) Advanced Computer Aided Drug Design & (d) Immunoinformatics to M.Sc. graduates at JSSAHER.
My lab utilizes integrated Bioinformatics approaches to understand sequence-structure-dynamics-function relationships of proteins and Computer-driven Drug Discovery & Design. Broad research interests are structural bioinformatics and pharmacoinformatics. Also, I am a special guest editor at elife journal, openscience advocate.
Worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea (a) to understand the fundamental principles of hydrogen bonding network in aqueous solutions with Prof. Jun-Ho Choi and (b) computer-aided drug discovery and design of novel inhibitors for therapeutics with Prof. Jin-Hee Ahn. I have also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Gyeongsang National University with Prof. Keun Woo Lee, funded by Brain Korea 2Plus, South Korea, to understand the structure and function of proteins involved in Genome Editing. I have been awarded Dr. DS Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellowship funded by Govt. of India, to exploit the staphylococcal lipases for biotechnological applications.
We have open positions for Ph.D., dissertation projects, and internships. Write me at [email protected] if you're interested.
Interested students, researchers, and science enthusiasts are welcome to meet me in person at #JSSAHER, Mysuru.
