About

Dr. Asad is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Biology in the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Jazan University. He received his Ph.D. from Saitama University and RIKEN Research Centre in Japan. His research is focused on investigating the role of the Immune System in response to different Infections Including Viruses. His PhD was on the Role of Epigenetics in Cancer. His research originated from the scientific fact that adaptation to pathogens in the environment is the primary function of the host immune system and as such a target in the evolution of genomic polymorphisms that are protective in host defence against pathogens. He Possesses extensive practical knowledge of mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, southern & western blotting, protein analysis, research and development. He is Problem-solver and an analytical thinker with a keen ability to rapidly assess diverse projects and situational challenges, develop action plans and lead teams to meet or exceed targeted goals.
Dr. Asad is working on Research relevant to Epigenetic Modifications and role of Immune System in different diseases. He is an Approved PhD supervisor in Pakistan and also a Member of Medical Laboratory Technology Association of Pakistan (MLTAP).
Dr. Asad is also involved in teaching graduate and undergraduate students. He mentored two MPhil students in Pakistan. His PhD is from Japan, MSc from UK and BSc from Ireland. His duties are to mentor and prepare undergraduate students in careers towards Applied Medical Sciences.
