About
Dr. Hemant Kumar Sharma is an Agricultural Engineer specializing in farm machinery and power, biomass valorization, renewable energy, and sustainable agricultural technologies. He holds a Ph.D. degree (ICSSR DF 2023-25) in Agricultural Engineering from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, and an M.Tech. in Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, in which he received a Gold Medal.
His research focuses on the design and development of innovative agricultural machinery and waste-to-wealth technologies, particularly for converting agricultural and organic wastes into value-added products. His doctoral research involved the development of a machine for producing biodegradable nursery pots from compressed biogas (CBG) digestate, with the aim of reducing dependence on conventional plastic nursery bags and promoting circular bioeconomy approaches.
His broader research interests include biomass and bioenergy, agricultural waste management, biochar and briquetting technologies, renewable energy systems, precision agriculture, agricultural machinery design, and sustainable mechanization. He has contributed to peer-reviewed research publications, book chapters, patents, and technology-development projects, and has received several awards and recognitions for his research and innovation.
He has also worked on farm machinery development, biomass utilization, renewable energy, and agricultural engineering research, with experience spanning academic, research, and engineering environments. His work seeks to integrate engineering innovation with environmental sustainability and practical agricultural applications.
