About
I'm a pavement materials and highway engineering professional with a deep interest in bitumen binder performance, asphalt mix design, and flexible pavement distress analysis and solutions. With over a decade of blended experience across academia, industry, and field implementation, I have developed a strong foundation in pavement materials research, advanced testing, and IRC/ASTM/MoRTH code-based design.
My academic journey includes a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee in Transportation Engineering, where I focused on performance evaluation of flexible pavements and alternative materials. Additionally, I explored binder properties, rheology, and asphalt mix design as part of my research.
Currently, I am heading the R&D division (Bitumen) at Moglix, where I lead formulation and performance evaluation of polymer modified binders, emulsions, and sustainable pavement materials. My work supports innovation in binder technology, field performance enhancement, and alignment with BIS/IRC standards.
Professionally, I have contributed to National and State highway projects, led Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) based pavement evaluations, and executed field trials involving nanotechnology and silane-based systems to improve subgrade and pavement performance. I have led the collection and analysis of pavement data across 250+ roads spanning over 1250 km in multiple Indian states.
Previously, I served as an Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, where I led training programs on flexible pavement recycling, and as an Engineer (Recycling) at Wirtgen India (Wirtgen Group, Germany), overseeing quality control in major road rehabilitation projects.
My core expertise includes:
✅ FWD-based pavement evaluation
✅ Binder testing and characterization using DSR, RV, and PG grading methods
✅ Performance-based asphalt mix design tailored to traffic and climate
✅ Pavement failure investigations and forensic analysis
✅ Cold In-Place Recycling (CIPR) and Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR)
✅ Bituminous Stabilized Material (BSM) design
✅ QA/QC and material testing for NH, SH, and MDR projects
✅ Application of nanotechnology in asphalt modification
✅ Cross-functional collaboration across R&D, QA, sales, and client teams
I have actively participated in national and international conferences, engaging with global experts in pavement sustainability and rehabilitation. I'm passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice, delivering sustainable infrastructure through technical integrity and field-relevant innovation.
I continue to contribute through guest lectures, industry-academia partnerships, and standardization efforts, believing strongly in continuous learning, ethical leadership, and collaborative problem-solving in the realm of bituminous road technologies.
