About

As an instructional designer by training and a dedicated scholar in the field of Learning Design and Technology—formerly known as Educational Technology—at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, I have committed myself fully to advancing education through research, teaching, and service. My doctoral studies have deepened my understanding of how technology and design principles can be effectively integrated to enhance learning experiences across diverse contexts. Since beginning my doctoral journey, I have actively contributed to the academic community through peer-reviewed journal reviews, conference proposal evaluations, and teaching roles that reflect my passion for educational innovation. My research interests center on leveraging learning and design technologies to support language acquisition, conducting multimodal analyses of learning media, evaluating instructional effectiveness, and advancing pedagogical practices through evidence-based design.

Currently, I serve as a faculty member at the Buddhist Education Studies program at Institut Nalanda, Indonesia, where I teach a range of foundational and advanced courses including Research Methods, Statistics, Evaluation and Measurement in Education, Educational Management, Educational Psychology, and Cultural Anthropology. These subjects align closely with my academic and professional background, allowing me to bridge theory and practice in meaningful ways. At Nalanda, I strive to create a learner-centered environment that encourages critical thinking, cultural awareness, and ethical responsibility—values deeply rooted in both Buddhist education and modern pedagogy.

Before joining Nalanda, I spent eight transformative years teaching in China, where I instructed a wide array of courses such as Indonesian Language Pronunciation, Introduction to Indonesian Culture, Indonesian Language Listening, Practical English for Listening and Speaking, and Public Speaking. This international experience not only sharpened my instructional design and cross-cultural communication skills but also enriched my understanding of global educational practices. I am now integrating these insights into my current role, combining my academic expertise with real-world teaching experience to foster a dynamic, inclusive, and reflective learning environment. Through this synthesis of theory, practice, and intercultural perspective, I aim to inspire students to become thoughtful, lifelong learners equipped to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
