Dr. Swarniv Chandra is an Assistant Professor at Government General Degree College, Kushmandi, India. He earned his bachelor's from the University of Calcutta and master's from IIT Delhi, followed by a CSIR fellowship and a PhD in Quantum Plasmas from Jadavpur University. He has published extensively, presented at PLASMA 2011 in Poland, and trained at ICTP in 2012 and 2014. His awards include the Buti Young Scientist Award (2012), ASP Best Paper Award (2013), ISCA Young Scientist Award (2015), ISCA Best Poster Award (2017), and the AAPPS DPP Young Researcher Award (2022)—only the second Indian to receive it. After a postdoc at Jadavpur University, he served at Techno India University and as head of physics at JIS University before his current role. He has supervised three PhD students. An able organizer, he convened two national conferences, an International Plasma Webinar (2020), and a COVID‑19 online training program on plasma physics with over 200 global participants. His expertise lies in quantum plasma and plasma simulations. Recently, he has also focused on environmental issues, developing simulation‑based models for solid waste management, recycling, and resource recovery.
