About
Dr. Dibyananda Majhi completed his bachelor and master degree in chemistry from Sambalpur University, Odisha, India. He received Ph.D. degree from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela in 2022. During his doctoral course he has extensively worked in the field of heterogeneous photo-catalysis for energy and environmental applications. During his doctoral study he mainly worked on development of Bismuth based binary and ternary heterojunction materials for photocatalytic degradation of various organic pollutants, bacteria killing, water splitting and heavy metal ion reduction from aqueous sources. He has also developed mesoporous inorganic catalytic materials for synthesis of biologically active organic molecules. He has significant number of publications during his Ph.D. Some of his notable and high impact work has been published in internationally reputed journal like Applied Catalysis B Environmental, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chemical Engineering Journal and ACS Applied Nano material. His research works have been cited more than 800 times and he has a google scholar h-index value of 12. During his Ph.D., he was also involved in teaching various courses to undergraduate and post graduate students. Dr. Majhi has vast research experience in different research field including photocatalysis, photoelectrocatalysis, optoelectronic materials and energy storage devices. He has participated in various national and internal conferences where he has given poster presentation as well as oral talk and short invited talk. He is recently convocated in August 2022 from National Institute of Technology Rourkela. During the convocation he has been awarded with prestigeous Snigdhashri Patra Memorial Gold Medal for the best Ph.D. Thesis of 2020-21. Soon after completing his Ph.D., he worked as postdoctoral research associate at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune till March 2022. He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow at Hanyang University, South Korea.
