About

Prof. Rajesh Kumar received M.Sc. degree in Physics and M.Tech. degree in optoelectronics and optical communication from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He obtained Ph.D. degree in photonics engineering from Ghent University-IMEC, Ghent(Belgium). After completing the Ph.D. degree, he worked with the Optoelectronics Research Center, University of Southampton (U.K.), and with the University of Colorado, Boulder (USA). He was a visiting faculty in Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad, India.
Prof. Rajesh Kumar joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in 2015 where he is currently serving as an Associate Professor. He has authored or coauthored more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in different journals and conference proceedings. Professor Kumar is recipient of early carrier research award from Science and Engineering Research Board, India.
Prof. Kumar’s research interest is focused around CMOS compatible silicon photonic devices. He is a senior member of IEEE and OPTICA (formerly OSA) and serves as a Reviewer for various optics and photonics journals.
