About

Dr Shaikhom Inaotombi is currently working as a Technical Advisor (Fisheries and aquaculture) of the Indo-German GIZ-NERAQ project with responsible for strategic planning, coordination & implementation for sustainable & climate-resilient management of aquatic resources. He has more than 10 years of research & management experience in Aquatic Ecology, Biodiversity Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Traditional Knowledge and Climate Change. His PhD research was focused on the aquatic biodiversity of mountain environments and their interaction with the physicochemical parameters of water and sediment. He has also a post-doctorate fellowship in aquatic eco-toxicology. He has worked for the Ministry of Environment, Govt. of India with the responsibility for technical appraisal of project proposals for the declaration of Ecologically Sensitive Zone around the Protected Areas of India. He is keenly interested in revealing how aquatic organisms and ecosystems respond to chemicals and climatic stresses.
