About
I am currently a faculty member in the Department of Biotechnology at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, India. I earned my PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Hyderabad, conducting my doctoral research (2004–2009) at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Hamburg, Germany, and the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in India. My work in biochemistry and structural biology was supervised by Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain (CDFD, India) and Dr. Matthias Wilmanns (EMBL, Germany). I received a DAAD fellowship during my PhD and later an EMBO long-term fellowship for postdoctoral research at EMBL-Hamburg.
I serve as an editorial board member and reviewer for several prestigious international journals, including those published by Nature Publishing Group, BioMed Central, PLoS, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Springer. Previously, I was a visiting lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Since January 2023, I have been the Editor-in-Chief of Archives of Microbiology (Springer Nature).
