Dr. Manas Barai is an Assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University. He completed Bachelor of Science Honors (B.Sc. Hons, 2013) and Master of Science (M.Sc., 2015) in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University, India.
He also had qualified CSIR-NET in 2015 and GATE in 2018. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree on August 03, 2021 in the Department of Chemistry, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore-721102, West Bengal, India. He completed four months (April 2018 to July 2018) visiting research scholar program in the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan under the guidance of Prof. Chien-Hsiang Chang. He achieved one-year (2021 to 2022) post-doctoral research experiences from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, India under the guidance’s of Prof. Subhadip Ghosh. He was obtained two-year senior post-doctoral research experiences since 2022 to 2024 in the Department of Chemistry, Luleå University of Technology, Luleå, Sweden under the guidance’s of Dr. Anuttam Patra. After coming back to India, he has completed four months (October 2024 to January 2025) post-doctoral research in the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, India under the supervisions of Dr. Raj Kumar Roy. During his Ph.D. and post doctoral research period, he was published eighteen research articles in different reputed international journals to his credit. He has attended more than fifteen National and International conferences and demonstrated his ability in the public forums through oral and poster presentations.
His expertise includes synthesis of long chain cationic, anionic and zwitterionic surfactants to study their interfacial aggregation behaviors for drug delivery, inorganic nanoparticle synthesis and dermatological activity purposes. Similarly, gained the research about the synthesis procedure of perovskite nanocrystal and their photo physical studies through different spectroscopy studies, viz., UV-Vis. absorbance, and Fluorescence spectroscopy.
