Dr. O. P. Verma is working as an Professor in the Department of Molecular & Cellular Engineering, Jacob School of Biotechnology & Bioengineering, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (Deemed-to-be-University), Allahabad, U.P., India. He did B. Tech. Agricultural Engineering in 1994 from Allahabad Agricultural Institute (University of Allahabad) and did M. Tech. Biotechnology in 2003 from Institute of Engineering and Technology (U.P. Technical University, Lucknow) . He joined the department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering in 2004 after receiving his M. Tech. degree in Biotechnology with Gold Medal. He has completed PG Diploma in Bioinformatics in 2005 from Bioinformatics Institute of India also he did his Ph. D. Biotechnology in 2009 from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (Deemed to be University), Allahabad. He did PG Diploma Nanobiotechnology in 2012 from Life Science Foundation , India. Recently completed two Certificate courses on" Biodiversity Conservation " from NPTEL(AMU, Aligarh and " Environmental Impact Assessmet" fron IIT, Roorkee through NPTEL.


He has worked as “Project Manager” from 01.06.1994 to 05.03.1996 at Uttar Pradesh Vikas Agency, Ambedkar Nagar, and U.P., India and worked as “Apprenticeship Trainee” in Minor Irrigation from 07.03.1996 to 06.03.1997 at Allahabad. He worked as “Guest Lecturer” in Department of Dairy Engineering from session 1997 -1999 at Jawaharlal Nehru Polytechnic Mahmudabad, Sitapur U.P., India and also worked as “Field Supervisor” in Community Development Scheme (Govt. of India) from 01.03.1999 to 25.03.2001 at Jawaharlal Nehru Polytechnic Mahmudabad, Sitapur U.P., India. He worked as “Assistant Professor” in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering from 30.06.2004 to 30.06.2017. After that worked as "Associate Professor" from 30.06.2017 to 29.06.2020. Now at present he is working as a Professor from 30.06.2020 till date in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering at Jacob Institute of Biotechnology & Bioengineering, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (Formerly Allahabad Agricultural Institute -Deemed University), Prayagraj (Allahabad). U.P., India. He is worked as Assistant Director, Dean Student Welfare and Coordinator, IQAA in SHIATS, Now working as Training and Placement Coordinator, JIBB, , Convenor Time Table Committee, JIBB. and Program Officer, NSS (JIBB), SHUATS.

Dr. Verma is a Fellow of the Society of Life Sciences (FSLSc), Fellow of the International Society of Ecological Communications (FISEC), Fellow Association of Microbiologist (FAMI)of India, Associate Member of Institution of Engineers , India, Fellow Asian Biological Research Foundation(ABRF) His research interests include Enzyme Technology, Environmental Biotechnology and Fermentation Technology and Medicinal plants. Recently I have organized an International Conference.
