About
Dr. Ishita Modasiya
Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, School of Science, RK University
Dr. Ishita Modasiya is an accomplished microbiologist with a Ph.D. specializing in postbiotics and foodomics. Their research delves into the health-promoting properties of probiotics and postbiotics, focusing on the identification and characterization of bioactive peptides derived from fermented foods. Dr. Modasiya’s innovative work has practical applications in food technology, contributing to the development of functional foods with enhanced nutritional and therapeutic benefits.
Research interests include:
- Postbiotics and their role in gut health.
- Foodomics for exploring bioactive compounds in fermented foods.
- Probiotic potential and characterization of Lactobacillus spp.
- Development of functional foods through microbial fermentation.
Dr. Modasiya’s contributions to the field have been recognized with a SHODH - ScHeme of Developing High Quality Research, Goverment of Gujrat Fellowship for their commitment to advancing microbiological science. They have also received a Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) Grant for their groundbreaking research on the application of probiotics and postbiotics in food systems.
As an academic and researcher, Dr. Modasiya aims to inspire the next generation of microbiologists while driving innovations in food science and technology.
