About

I am a doctoral-level biotechnology researcher and research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. I specialize in plant cellular systems, phytochemical engineering, and translational bio-innovation for sustainable food and therapeutic applications. Following advanced doctoral studies in biotechnology, I established a strong portfolio of over fifteen peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Trends in Biotechnology, Frontiers in Plant Science, and the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules.
Building upon my foundation in biochemistry, I am actively engaged in biomedical research focused on cancer and aging. In this context, I apply my expertise in plant natural products, alongside molecular biology and computational drug discovery approaches, to develop novel health interventions.
My work extends beyond the laboratory scale to address environmental sustainability and eco-evolutionary dynamics. I leverage precision biotechnology as a tool for biodiversity conservation, publishing on strategies to mitigate the macro-impacts of global change on agricultural and ecological systems.
My multidisciplinary research is further strengthened by ongoing collaboration with Prof. Wagner A. Vendrame’s laboratory at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. I also bring extensive postgraduate teaching experience in biotechnology, molecular genetics & omic technologies, medical & applied microbiology, and translational bioprocessing, underscoring my commitment to advancing precision bioengineering for the future of medicine, agriculture, and global sustainability.
