About
At the Physics Department of Patkar - Varde College, we led the establishment of a cutting-edge Material Science Research Laboratory. This initiative was made possible through securing grants from prestigious institutions such as the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), University Grants Commission (UGC), Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), and internal college funding.
The laboratory's infrastructure is equipped with a wide array of state-of-the-art research instruments essential for conducting advanced studies in material science and physics. These instruments include a DC Sputtering Unit from Hind High Vacuum, Titanium Molybdenum Aluminum Chromium target for sputtering unit, Radio Frequency Source, Thermal Evaporation unit, Calo Wear Tester, Roughness Measurement device from Mitutoyo, inverted Metallurgical Microscope, Constant Temperature Water Bath, Ultrasonic Cleaner, Fume Hood, Metal Cryocan Liquid Nitrogen Container, Gas Cylinders, LCR Meter, Four Probe Method, E/M by Thomson's method, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Hall Effect Kit, and Tina Design suit, among others. These instruments enable groundbreaking research in electronic properties of materials, mechanical properties, electromagnetic phenomena, and optical properties analysis, among other areas.
Moreover, the laboratory is well-equipped with essential instruments funded by the college, including a Spectrometer, Polarimeter, chemicals, computers, Projector, Signal Generator, and Multimeters, among others. These instruments play a crucial role in supporting a diverse range of research and educational activities, facilitating experiments, demonstrations, and lectures effectively.
Additionally, our efforts have resulted in the acquisition of research equipment such as the Constant Deviation Galvanometer, Michaelson's Interferometer, Ballistic Galvanometer, and others, further enhancing the laboratory's research capabilities.
Overall, our contributions have been instrumental in establishing a state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure at the Physics Department, fostering an environment conducive to research, innovation, and practical technology development. This initiative has not only elevated the college's academic standing but also provided invaluable opportunities for students and faculty to engage in meaningful scientific inquiry and contribute to real-world problem-solving in collaboration with industries.
