I am Professor and Head of the Department of Nephrology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, India. I am an internationally recognized clinician-scientist in nephrology and renal transplantation, with extensive contributions to patient care, medical education, and translational research. I have held leadership positions in the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the Indian Society of Nephrology, and has received prestigious fellowships including FASN and FRCP (London).
Research Interests
Prof. Prasad's research focuses on both clinical and translational nephrology, with particular emphasis on:
Kidney transplantation and transplant immunology
Acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), and CKD of unknown etiology (CKDu)
Steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome and pharmacogenomics
Immune mechanisms in glomerular diseases, including T-cell biology and regulatory T cells
Membranous nephropathy and biomarker discovery (including PLA2R)
Peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis outcomes
Renal epidemiology and multicenter kidney disease registries
Contrast-induced acute kidney injury and critical care nephrology
Precision medicine and biomarker-based approaches in nephrology
