About
I had obained Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry from Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand under the supervision of Prof. CS Mathela, a renowned Phytochemist in 2005. My scientific output to date comprises 100 scientific papers published in International and National Journals related to Essential Oil Chemistry, Natural Product Chemistry, separation methods, floral chemistry, and quality control of aromatic and medicinal plants. I am currently working on quality control aspects of aromatic and medicinal plants. In addition, my scientific interests encompass the chemosystematics of aromatic plants of Uttarakhand Himalaya. Currently, I am working at the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow, India as Sr Principal Scientist in Phytochemistry Division.
Research Interest
Chemistry of natural products. Quality control of secondary metabolites of aromatic plants. Essential oils and their separation, enantioselective separations of enantiomeric pairs of terpenoids, and aroma chemicals in one-dimensional GC-FID and GC-MS. Carbon dating studies (C14 analysis through AMS technique) on the authentication of natural chemicals versus petrochemical-derived products. Applications of Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME) and Headspace HS-GC techniques to study the flower volatile. Application of LC-QToF MS and LC-MS/MS in method development of bioactive compounds from plant extracts.
